Title: From Boy to Monster

Mentor Texts: My ideas were extremely original in this process but I got 2 ideas from mentor texts. The first idea was... How I should describe Jay as (the boy in the beggining of the story). I chose in the end to describe his character just like Danny Phontoms character.



Danny Phantom is the character of a boy who is a nerd who is constantly teased in real life, however he can turn into a ghost and become very powerful. My second idea from mentor text was the idea of the charcter Predator from the movie Predator.



The character of predator is a mean nasty one of a kind creature. Literally its name speaks for itself, it is a predator and humans and any other type of life are its prey. I got my idea for predrag (the creature that Jay turns into) from predator because I wanted predrag to be one of a kind and a unique powerful killing creature.

Audience: This book is directed towards mainly teenages interested in sci-fi or a kind or horror fiction. This book can also be read by adult with a broad imagination. Readers usually should be at least over ten to understand the story.

The Writing Process: During The writing process I began by brainstorming up a total of 3 unique fiction stories. After asking around to my piers and seeing which interested them most I chose the story "From Boy to Monster". I wrote up 3 drafts of this story, each time changing the story plot slightly and trying to figure out the best ending and I kept punctuating. After the story was completed at my best I brought it to my parents to look over and comment. After taking the comments into serious comsideration I took my story to my teacher and she reviewed it. After many days of very difficult work I finaly ended up with a 5 page story.

The publishing Process: The publishing process was particularly difficult in this situation. My story is a sci-fi/ horror and not alot of magazines takein that genre. After days of searching for a publisher I came across the website: sendstory.com. I created an acoount and I register my story to be viewed by the public. However first I find a disclaimer right so that no one could use my story. My disclaimer states: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The original characters and plot are the property of the author. No money is being made from this work. No copyright infringement is intended. Feature Cast Reflection

Concepts:

- I learned without the oregon trails many of us may not be here right now. The Oregon Trail help people migrate from the east to the west. It was a dangerous trip but is was worth it once you got to oregon or even california during the goldrush.

- I learned how to use vocal effects such as... epic diva, male vocals, echo vocals, and female vocals. All of these effects can change the sound of your voice and make you sound like different characters.

All you have to do is click on the plus sign,

selects real vocals,

then select the voice you want.

Challenge:

My main challenge was figuring out how to make the voice louder then the music. The people who recorded werent close to the microphone so I had to make the music lower so that you could hear. I overcame this by asking around for help and eventually Sarah helped me figure out how to make it louder, so together we overcame my problem.

Real World Significance:

The event is significant because it is the reason why so many people were able to participate in major events that took place on the west such as the Gold Rush, Mexican american war, and many other major events. It is also the reason why most of us are here right now is from migration from the east, this major move helped america find its balance.

The podcast is important also because without it we couldnt share alot of information. Many people watch the news and listen to the radio to find out what is new or going on outside of their neighborhood however alot can also be share over the internet. It is a huge form of media that is used throughout the world.

Dascha

Dascha, a friend, a companion, a listener, a protector, a dog. One simple 4 legged creature that can bring more security, trust, hope, and protection than most humans. Dascha is more than a pet, she is a body guard. No matter where I go, she will always follow me. No matter what I do, she will always protect me.
Dascha is a pure bread German shepherd. When I walk Dascha, most people clear my path or cross the street out of fear from her because German shepherds are known for their training and ability to attack. It is a securing sight to see a grown man stop in his path, hesitate, and then turn around all because a 13 year old girl is walking her German shepherd dog.
Although she may seem vicious, she has another side to her, a much sweeter and innocent side. Only people who do not fear her are able to see the sweeter side of her. She communicates happiness, not through words or facial expressions, but when she barks or makes that high pitched sound, like dogs do when they are happy; it is like you can understand her perfectly. Dogs have a way or expressing emotions. We can read theirs and they can read ours.
Dogs can also give you a sense of security. When it is late and I am home alone just listening to her pace from room to room, trying to find the coolest place to sleep, it can relieve me. Just knowing that she is there will take my mind off my fear long enough to fall asleep.
Dogs bring us so much happiness that, as humans, we try to return the favor. Even though we know a five minute belly scratch each night would never give them as much happiness as they give us, we still try to do something nice. If you have ever felt joy as you rush your fingers through a dog’s thick layer of fur and you can feel every hair pass your fingers, you know how good the dog feels. That alone brings us even more joy. Just knowing that you are increasing their love for you brings you and your dog closer than ever.
I hope I have made Dascha happy because I love her like a sister. Even though she can’t understand what I am saying, I know she is listening when I talk to her. When I am afraid I know she can sense my fear and that is another reason why I feel safe around her. She knows when I am sad, scared, angry, and happy. I feel like when I am scared she is glad to protect me. And she feels power also, just by making sure I am safe. There is more to dogs then most people think. Make sure everyday you thank God for yours because you don’t know what you are missing until it is gone.

That was my querencia clipboard I had to pick something that i love to do, somewhere I lover to go, or something I love to love. I chose my dog, dascha. For this project we had to make our clipboards look like our querencia so I mad mine like my dog by putting a german shephard sowed to the back.
